The Metadata Monster

Digital distribution requires a robust set of metadata attached to each title that platforms rely on when they ingest content into their systems. The format and types of metadata differ from platform to platform and managing all of that information is a complex job, especially for large content libraries.

iPlatform simplifies this process through its metadata import module, which provides for the dynamic ingestion of spreadsheet and other metadata formats with rapid mapping of the data into the appropriate storage locations in the iPlatform system. Similarly, iPlatform can export your metadata into the expected format of any digital platform, including XML or spreadsheet, and it will alert you if you are missing any required information.

Track Everything

A film library may have thousands of titles and each title may have numerous versions, whether rating, language, edit, etc. iPlatform allows for the tracking of all versions of a title and the status of its deliverables, such as encoding, artwork preparation, and captioning.

Once a title’s assets are ready, its platform submission, delivery and exhibition status can be tracked via the platform status module. Any asset can be selected to view its rights availability status as well as its current status with any platforms, including order, delivery, start and end dates with confirmations.
